“Mama,” I cried, “you said He did only good things! You said He made the sick people well, and He fed the hungry! How could those bad people treat Him like that? If I were alive then, I would have let Him know that I loved Him.”
“You can love Him now.”
Thus, at her mother’s knee the small child heard the still, small voice of God beckoning her. Under her mother’s instruction, she learned of God’s sacrifice for her.

Liz’ young mind locked onto biblical principles like a vice grip. Learning the Ten Commandments in Sunday School, she struggled with the inconsistencies of worshiping on the first day of the week. After all, the fourth commandment says, “the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God. Why does everyone in this village go to church on Sunday if it isn’t the seventh day?” she queried.
Liz marveled at God’s faithfulness. As she grew, she had a burning desire to know truth and follow the right course. Yet the quandary over the Sunday/Sabbath issue escalated.

Years passed. Liz’ faith waned until her teen years when she attended a second evangelistic series. Then persecution for her renewed faith engulfed her. Would God’s promise that His grace is sufficient sustain her to bear the deepening trials that became a neighborhood spectator sport? Would God rescue her?
