Transcript of a sermon by Rev. J. O'Keefe, a Catholic priest who was prominent in the Baltimore diocese. This article was first printed in the July 3, 1897 issue of the magazine The Catholic Mirror. It was then reprinted by the SDA Church as Bible Student’s Library, No. 150, July 1897. The original footnotes from the Bible Student’ Library issue are retained.
The scriptures quotations are often loosely quoted, and are sometimes from the Catholic Douay-Rheims version, and sometimes from the King James Version.
O’Keefe strenuously argues that the Sabbath is the 7th day according to both Old and New Testaments, and examines each of the texts most often used to prove Sunday observance, showing the erroneous interpretation of each. He concludes that Protestants are wrong in observing Sunday, claiming this day of worship applicable only to Roman Catholics! A sequel to Rome’s Challenge.
This is a good Sabbath tract for Sunday-keepers. 16 pages.
