She says that “there are simple herbs that can be used for recovery of the sick;” that there are certain “herbs that are harmless, the use of which will tide over many apparently serious difficulties;” and that “leave no injurious effects in the system,” as do drugs.
This book is a compilation of the author’s quotations specifically regarding the rational use of herbs in a therapeutic way. The quotations, although originally penned in the late 1800s and early 1900s have stood the test of time and set forth principles of healthful living that have benefited many.
