In this 8 part series, Pastor Dan Wilson takes us on a journey of discovering the "Big Picture" of God's plan of Restoration.
1. Babylon is Fallen
Drawing on the first three chapters of Daniel, Dan Wilson applies these
Old Testament types or prophecies to anti-typical events in Revelation,
particularly as they pertain to the Three Angels’ Messages. Properly
understood, the presentation helps us step back from not only our
present reality, but also our preconceived ideas of the “truth” in order
that we may gain a better view of the “Big Picture.”
2. The Hour of His Judgement
Far from being a frightening, humiliating, or degrading event where we
stand in shame before God in the presence of all our sins, the judgment
is truly good news, great news—the best news! Dan Wilson traces the
theme of judgment from Genesis to Revelation, examining our future in
the light of the events of the past and the promises of God. In its
proper context, the judgment becomes the event most anticipated by the
children of God.
3. The Everlasting Gospel
The “secret” to this good news is found in a wooden box overlaid by gold
that even fascinates Hollywood, leading to a movie called “Raiders of
the Lost Ark.” Revelation says we need to look inside that box, and
through God’s Word and the illuminating teaching of the Holy Spirit, we
do just that in this presentation, uncovering what the box says about
God and His promises to us.
4. Restoration
This God-directed process transforms us into the men and women He had in
mind prior to Eve’s fateful choice in Eden. Using the imagery of the
potter and clay from Jeremiah 18, Dan Wilson explains how this process
of restoration works. To restore something, you need both the ability
and the desire. God demonstrates both conditions towards us—all we have
to do is consent! God will do a life-changing work in us if we only let
Him.
In Education, Ellen White says the biographies of the Bible are its
greatest educators. When we walk in the footsteps of others, we start to
see in their issues our own issues and we can learn from their
victories and mistakes. Abraham is perhaps equal to none in teaching us
what it means to fear God. In fact, the fear of the Lord is what God was
trying to teach him all throughout his life, culminating in the moment
of Isaac’s sacrifice on Mount Moriah.
6. Give Him Glory
He had left the past and the bondage of Egypt behind and the Promised
Land was still in the future. Between these two points, God knew that
what Moses and the people needed was a clearer picture of Him. They
needed to see His glory because people will never rise higher than the
person they follow. The last message to the world delivered by the Three
Angels includes giving God glory. How can we do that if we don’t even
know what it means?
7. Worship Him
We don’t have to guess at what it means or wonder what worshipping God
should look like in 2012 and beyond. By peeking into the past
experiences of the true worshippers of God revealed to us in His word,
we will learn clearly what God is looking for in His worshippers today.
8. Maddening Wine
As we walk deeper into the past and through the experiences of the
people of faith who have gone before us, a clearer picture is emerging.
This picture reveals that despite all the labels, boundaries, borders,
and prejudices dividing the human family, there are only two groups: one
that is drinking the maddening wine of Babylon mentioned by the Second
Angel in Revelation 14, and a group that is drinking something much more
wholesome. These two groups are as opposite as any two can be yet can
appear on the surface to be much, if not exactly, the same. The divide
began in Genesis with Cain and Abel and has been deepening ever since,
along with Satan’s deceptive ability to mask it.
