'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'" - Jeremiah 29:11,

This verse in Jeremiah is one of the best-known verses in the Bible. We love the sound of prosperity and an eternal future. Yet we’re not often fond of actually following God’s plans—we’re convinced that our own plans to pursue comfort, respect, and influence are superior to what He has in mind.

Luke Heimann was a Bible-believing Christian, but money and success were his gods.
