Mysteries of the Ancients

Long hidden truths reveal
where we are in time

The Lesson:

Over the last two studies we have looked at Old Testament evidence pointing to the identity of Jesus. The incredible prophecies authenticate the historic figure from Nazareth. The prophecies point to Him as divine!

Not only do we have prophecies pointing to Jesus, but an entire system of ancient Jewish worship! We have looked at the fascinating lessons we can draw from the ancient Sanctuary service. The Sanctuary revealed God’s plan of bringing us back into his presence. God desperately wants to dwell with us, but sin has separated us from Him. The Sanctuary reveals for us the path with practical steps back to our Creator. We found out that the Sanctuary was a type of a greater service going on in heaven. The book of Hebrews pictures Jesus as our High Priest in the Heavenly Sanctuary.

In this study we would like to have a closer look at the Jewish rituals that were performed in connection with the Sanctuary service. Even though we have no earthly sanctuary today, we have learnt incredible truths from this picture book. And even though we do not celebrate the Jewish feasts of old, they provide us with amazing insights! Many Bible scholars agree that the Jewish feasts are types of events transpiring from Christ’s crucifixion until the end of time. In other words, they provide for us an amazing prophecy!

An Incredible Timeline!

I am the type of person that likes to know where I am. Whenever I travel, which I do a lot for my work, I like to look at maps of the place I am staying and scan the surroundings. But not only do I like to know where I am geographically, but also in the scope of time. As I study history I see what is behind me and as I study prophecy I see what is before me! I am sure that I am not the only one that likes to know where we are in the progress of events.

We all like to have a timeline. We mark time, and place marks on our calendar or agenda. We want to know when we arrive at a certain place. Even children like knowing this. If you are a parent, you may have experienced that you are driving some place with your children, and there comes this voice from the back seat asking: How long till we arrive? And the answer you give may not always be as satisfying. But my point is that we all love to keep track of time because we believe that history is actually heading somewhere. Deep inside we know it means something and we are all going somewhere. That’s why at times God in the Bible lays out the entire history of the human race in advance!

There are several passages in the Bible where God gives the history of the human race in advance all the way from ancient civilisations, along the course of time, right up to the second coming of Jesus Christ. Through this series we will look at some of these incredible prophecies.

We already looked at an amazing prophecy in the book of Daniel, the second chapter. We were brought from ancient Babylon to the very end of time and the coming of Jesus! In the prophetic book of Daniel we find several other timelines and we will be looking at some of those during this series. Revelation also provides us with an outline of events reaching from the days of John to Christ’s coming and beyond. As we have seen before, the prophecies build upon each other. All these stunning timelines awaken us unto the nearness of Christ’s final Kingdom.

But in this study we would like to look at a striking timeline which is found in neither Daniel nor Revelation. This is a prophetic timeline in the Bible that many do not understand because it is buried in the rituals of the ancient Sanctuary service. It is somewhat different than other timelines we find in Daniel and Revelation. It does not deal so much with dates, but with events or waymarks. God, through his Word, gives us a picture of where we are and what we can expect in the near future.

The Yearly Feasts of the Ancient Jews

We have already had a little look into the Sanctuary service and its rituals. A lamb was brought as a sacrifice. It points to Jesus and His sacrifice. Sins were confessed on the lamb, just like our sins are transferred to Jesus. This service in the Sanctuary happened on a daily basis. In addition to the daily rituals that took place in the old Tabernacle, there were annual rituals that happened once a year on a specific day. You can read about these rituals or feasts in Leviticus chapter 23. Here we find seven annual feasts that all happened within one year. The feast of Passover, the feast of Unleavened Bread, the feast of First Fruits, the feast of Pentecost, the feast of Trumpets, the day of Atonement feast, and the feast of Tabernacles.

These were annual celebrations, but not like national holidays we have today. There was a very special and significant meaning connected with each feast. Many of the “Christian” feasts we have today have lost their meaning if they ever had one. Times like Christmas and Easter have become marketing enterprises. A lot of money is spent in indulgence, forgetting what the feast is supposed to point to. As you might know, many of the “Christian” feasts can be traced to paganism in the past. But the ancient Jewish festivals were appointed by God.

God had something specific to teach his people through these feasts. They were a commemoration of their exodus out of Egypt, and how they had obtained the Promised Land and they were to point forward into the future and reveal an incredible timeline.
So let us look at the feasts and the festivals in their order to see what kind of a picture God paints with them.

The Feast of Passover

The first feast of the year would be the Passover. This feast dates back to the time when the Israelites were still slaves in Egypt. Remember that the Hebrews were slaves of the Egyptians for 400 years. God raised up a man by the name of Moses to set his people free. Moses appeared before the Pharaoh and requested the release of the Hebrews. Pharaoh refused, but God intervened. Just remember that we have a God that intervenes! Whatever problem you may face, if you are following Gods Word, He will intervene sooner or later! God sent plagues upon the land of Egypt to convince Pharaoh to release His people, but Pharaoh refused time and time again. Then God declared to Moses that one more plague would come. An angel of the Lord would pass through Egypt, killing all the first born. God then gave specific guidelines how the Hebrews could be protected from this final plague.

“And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt saying, This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you. Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house… Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats: And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening. And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it… For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the LORD. And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.” Exodus 12:1-3, 5,-7, 12-13

God introduced the Passover as the first feast of the year. From this very time they kept the feast as a memorial of how God delivered from death in Egypt and led them out of captivity. But this feast has more significance than the exodus out of Egypt. A lamb without blemish was to be chosen for each family and the blood of the lamb would save them from destruction. You may have guessed it already – the sacrificed passover lamb points to Jesus, who saves us from the destruction of sin! Did you know that Jesus was crucified on the very Passover day? He was the fulfillment of the passover.

“Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us.” 1 Corinthians 5:7

Here Paul makes it very plain that Jesus is our Passover. But there is more!

“Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house.” Exodus 12:3

The Hebrews were to pick the lamb without blemish on the 10th day. But it was not to be slain before the 14th day. For four days the lamb would be seen by everyone passing the homes. All could see the lamb had no blemish. It was important that it had no blemish, because it was a symbol of Jesus who had no blemish.

On the ninth day of the first month (Nisan) Jesus rode into Jerusalem, known today as Palm Sunday. He rode into Jerusalem and taught from the 10th to the 14th day publicly in the Temple. Everybody could see and hear Him! When Jesus was on trial the Jewish leaders asked him what he had been teaching. He answered that he had publicly been teaching and that they could ask the people. All had seen him and heard him and all could see that he had no blemish! All could see that he indeed was the spotless Lamb of God without blemish. Then on the 14th day he gave his life for us as the true Lamb! The feast of the Passover points us to the cross of Christ, which begins a prophetic timeline.

The Feast of Unleavened Bread

The feast of Passover coincided with the feast of Unleavened Bread. The day after the lamb had been slain, the Jews would eat unleavened bread. This fell on the 15th day of the first month (Nisan). The unleavened bread also points to Jesus.

“I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.” John 6:51

Jesus is the bread of life. Why was the bread to be unleavened? Why did it have no yeast? The Bible tells us that leaven is a symbol of sin and Jesus had no sin. This is why the Lamb had no blemish and the bread had no yeast.

“Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.” Matthew 16:6

Jesus warned to beware of the leaven of the Pharisees. It was not because Jesus was marketing another type of leaven! Spiritual things must be spiritually discerned. When you crave and nurture sin it grows like leavened bread.

“Then understood they how that he bade them not beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.” Matthew 16:12

The leaven represented the false or perverted doctrine, just as the unleavened bread pointed to the perfect life and sacrifice of Jesus. It pointed to his perfect body resting in the tomb after the Passover. Jesus himself pointed to the unleavened bread just before his death.

“And as they did eat, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and brake it, and gave to them, and said, Take, eat: this is my body.” Mark 14:22

Jesus kept the Passover with his disciples, and pointed to the unleavened bread as a symbol of Himself. Just as the Passover pointed to the crucifixion, so the feast of unleavened bread pointed to Christ’s body in the grave.

The Feast of First Fruits

The Passover, the feast of Unleavened Bread, and the feast of First Fruits were celebrated on three consecutive days. The feast of First Fruits fell on the 16th day of the first month. Before this festival would take place, the Jews would go into the barley fields and chose a few sheaves of barley and set them aside. On the feast of first fruits they would take a sheaf of barley and wave it before the Lord. It was called the wave sheaf offering. But why was the priest waving it before the Lord? Why did God have them do this?

Was it just an Israelite thanksgiving day? Or did it have more significance?

It pointed to something very significant. It was a symbol of a harvest to come! Take notice that the Passover happened on the 14th day of the first month. This feast happened on the 16th day, or third day, from Passover. What happened the third day after Jesus was crucified? He rose from the dead! That’s why the Bible calls Jesus our first fruit!

“But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.” 1 Corinthians 15:20

Christ is called the first fruit because He is first in line. Just like one sheaf gives confidence and assurance that a harvest will follow, so the resurrection of Christ gives us assurance that Jesus will resurrect a harvest of people when He comes the second time.

“For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming.” 1 Corinthians 15:22-23

“And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle.” Revelation 14:14

The Bible speaks of the second coming as a harvest! Because the tomb of Jesus is empty, we can have assurance that the first fruit has been presented and a harvest will follow!

The Feast of Weeks or Pentecost

When many hear the word Pentecost, they think of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, but it actually points back to an ancient event and feast. This feast was kept 50 days (Penta) after Passover. The feast commemorated how the Hebrews came to Mount Sinai after 7 weeks, and received the law of God. God met them there at Mount Sinai and gave them the 10 commandment law, which was later put into the Ark of the Covenant. This happened on the day which later became known as the day of Pentecost. The law was already in existence, but was now given in written form. Take notice what happened that day.

“And Moses brought forth the people out of the camp to meet with God; and they stood at the nether part of the mount. And mount Sinai was altogether on a smoke, because the LORD descended upon it in fire: and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly. And when the voice of the trumpet sounded long, and waxed louder and louder, Moses spake, and God answered him by a voice. And the LORD came down upon mount Sinai, on the top of the mount: and the LORD called Moses up to the top of the mount; and Moses went up.” Exodus 19:17-20

All the people were gathered together, a loud trumpet was heard, and fire came down upon the mountain. Now this should ring a bell! This is exactly what happened in the New Testament on the day of Pentecost!

“And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.” Acts 2:1-3

It happened the same way as all the people of God were united and gathered in one place! A loud noise was heard and fire came down from heaven. This time not on a mountain, but on the disciples gathered in the upper room. This was the anointing of God’s new church! Now this is incredible, so follow carefully as Peter says something remarkable a little later in Acts chapter two.

“This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.” Acts 2:32-33

Peter explains to the people what happened on Pentecost. Who received the Holy Spirit according to Peter? Jesus first, and then he poured it out on the disciples! Peter is saying that Jesus has now been anointed as High Priest in heaven with the Holy Spirit. Take notice of the type in the Old Testament.

“Then shalt thou take the anointing oil, and pour it upon his head, and anoint him.” Exodus 29:7

When the High Priest started working as priest in the Sanctuary, he had to be anointed. Oil was to be poured on Aaron and oil is a symbol of the Holy Spirit. An ancient Psalm of David describes it so well.

“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.” Psalm 133:1-3

The oil was poured over Jesus and it dripped down and rained upon the disciples. Jesus was anointed in the Sanctuary above to begin his work as High Priest. His church was anointed below to begin their work of going to the world and tell what Jesus is doing in the heavenly Sanctuary. All these feasts that we have looked at so far happened in the spring of the year. In the timeline we have now come to the time that the church was sent forth to proclaim the glorious gospel.

The Feast of Trumpets

Just as the first four feasts were associated with the first coming of Jesus (his death and resurrection), so the last three feasts are associated with his second coming. The feast of trumpets took place on the 1st of the month Tishri (seventh month), towards the end of the Jewish year. The feast of trumpets was the first of the fall feasts.

“And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation.” Leviticus 23:23-24

Why were the trumpets blown? Often trumpets in the Bible are connected with a proclamation or a warning of judgment. What were the Israelites warned about? Ten days after the trumpets were blown a solemn ritual was preformed in the most holy place of the Sanctuary. It was called the Day of Atonement, and it was the most solemn feast or event of the entire year! The Feast of Trumpets was to prepare for this great day.

What happened on the Day of Atonement? The High Priest would enter into the Most Holy Place, only this day of the year, to make atonement for the people. Remember that every day services took place in the Sanctuary. The blood of the lambs and goats, symbolizing the sins of the people, was transferred into the Sanctuary. But once a year the Sanctuary was symbolically cleansed through an atonement. It was a time when all sins had to be confessed and transferred to the Sanctuary. It was a time of judgment, and those who had not confessed their sins were cut off from the people of God. At the end of the Jewish year all came to a climax, and they had to be right with God.

What is this telling us today? God is showing us that as we move to the end of earth’s history, there will be a time of judgment. But before the time of judgment begins, a warning will go forth. Trumpets will sound and some very interesting things will happen.

As you follow the history of the church down through the centuries, and come to the late seventeen hundreds / early eighteen hundreds, something interesting begins to happen all over the face of the planet. A little girl in Wales inspires men to start the Bible society in 1804. The Bible, which had been available in 67 languages, suddenly is translated into 2233 languages – and they print a hundred million copies just like that! At the same time a man in the British Isles, by the name of William Carey, launches the modern missionary movement and all those Bibles are carried all over the earth! At the same time all over the planet people start reading the Bible and independent from each other, start studying the prophecies of the books of Daniel and Revelation.

As they study these incredible prophecies, Christians began to preach the second coming of Jesus for the first time in centuries. You can study history and you will read about a great religious awakening, even in countries where it was outlawed. There were countries where it was not allowed to preach about the second coming. In Sweden the people were not allowed to preach the second coming of Christ, but when the adults were not allowed to do it, miraculously five and six year old children began standing up and preaching this message with power! At the same time some shocking natural phenomena’s took place! As the prophecies were studied and preached all over the world, suddenly in 1755 the world was shaken by the Lisbon earthquake.

In 1780 ‘the dark day’ in the New World (America) left everybody amazed. In 1833 a great metiorite shower took place all over North America with an estimated 250,000 stars falling every single hour. All these events were predicted to take place in Revelation chapter 6, just prior to the coming of Jesus.

“And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.” Revelation 6:12-13

The signs took place and created a great awakening. The message was proclaimed and a warning was given to the whole world that Jesus was soon coming. All this was predicted by the prophet Daniel.

“But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.” Daniel 12:4

There would be an increase of knowledge relating to the Bible. Some believe this text is talking about technology, and without a doubt this has happened, but primarily it is pointing to Biblical knowledge increasing. All of a sudden, in the end of time, people would start studying the Scriptures again. The book of Daniel would be studied and understood and the warning would go to the world that Jesus is coming! Prophetic knowledge certainly has increased and is going all over the globe. The trumpets are being blown!

Here is the time line revealed in the feasts that we have seen so far: The crucifixion of Christ – Christ resting in the tomb – The resurrection of Christ – The Pentecost revival – The great awakening in the late 1700s /early 1800s, warning and enlightening the world as to the soon return of Jesus. The next event outlaid in the feasts, is the great Day of Atonement.

The Day of Atonement

Ten days after the trumpets were blown, the great Day of Atonement took place. It took place on the 10th day of the seventh month.

Each day of the year sacrifices were made and the blood was carried into the Sanctuary. The priest would enter into the Holy Place day by day. But once every year the High Priest alone would enter into the Most Holy Place to make a final atonement for all the people that had symbolically transferred their sins into the Sanctuary. The Sanctuary would be cleansed of all the sins that had symbolically been transferred to it. The Jewish people would greet each other that day by saying: ‘May your life be inscribed in the book of life’. It was a day of judgment.

Will there be a day of judgment in the end of time? Will there be a time when our high Priest, Jesus, makes an atonement for us? The answer is yes, as the Bible talks about a day of judgment.

“Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.” Acts 17:31

He hath appointed a day or time to judge the world. The feasts point to a day of judgment, and the Bible declares that this judgment will take place before Jesus comes.

“And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle.” Revelation 14:14

Here is a picture of the second coming of Jesus, but something has to happen before Jesus comes. In vision John on Patmos saw three angels with three messages for the entire world. We will look at these messages carefully in a future study. But for now take notice of the words of the first angel.

“And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.” Revelationg 14:6-7

This hour of judgment has come! We are living in the very judgment hour of world’s history. In our next presentation we will see when this judgment began. Prophecy reveals the exact time. The judgment of this world is not something to be troubled or afraid about. There is good news! Jesus is our High Priest and wants us to come before Him. We can bring our sins to him as He ministers for us in the heavenly Sanctuary!

“My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for our’s only, but also for the sins of the whole world.” 1 John 2:1-2

Jesus is waiting for you to come to him with your sins and burdens. In a time like this He is praying for you, waiting for you, reaching out to you! He wants to be your advocate in the judgment. What have we seen so far? One Jewish year of feasts has captured the entire Christian era! An incredible waymark prophecy reveals that we are living in the judgment hour before Jesus is to return in the skies of heaven. But there is still one feast that has not yet fulfilled. One is still before us!

The Feast of Tabernacles

This feast took place right after the solemn Day of Atonement (on the 15th of the seventh month), and it was the last feast in the Jewish year. It was the happiest feast of all! The Israelites had come to the end of the year and they celebrated their final arrival in the Promised Land. Passover signified the exodus out of Egypt, while the feast of tabernacles was a feast signifying the arrival in Canaan!

How does the Feast of Tabernacles celebrate the fact that God took care of them? For an entire week the Israelites would live in booths made of branches. They went and lived in huts for a week. They remembered the fact that God had protected them in the wilderness as they lived in huts till they were safely brought into the Promised Land. It was a celebration of a successful journey. It was a celebration of God fulfilling his promise to Abraham. The Israelites were celebrating the fact that they made it home! So how does this apply to you and I? You have probably already figured this one out! One day soon, if we are faithful, you and I are going to go home.

“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” John 14:1-3

Jesus is soon coming to take you and I to a place he has prepared. Are we ready for that great day? Will we pass the judgment clinging to Jesus as our advocate? Jesus wants to ‘tabernacle’ with us forever!

God wants to dwell with His people. God does not want to be separated from us by a veil. God does not want the barrier that was thrown up by mans rebellion and sin! God wants to be with His people and the Sanctuary proves that beyond the shadow of a doubt! All together it shows us how God wants to bring us sinners back into the presence of God. It all points to Jesus, and Jesus is the way! What is the whole point of the Sanctuary and its feasts?

“And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.” Revelation 21:1-3

It all points to Jesus and His plan for His faithful followers. The Tabernacle of God will one day be with men. He will be with us and we will be with Him in His presence. The Feast of Tabernacles points us to the second coming of Jesus Christ, because that is when the veil is gone. That is when we are escorted into the presence of God. It is God’s plan to bring you and I back into His presence. And once sin is eradicated and we are forever with God, there is no more need of a Sanctuary.

“And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.” Revelation 21:22-23

Can you imagine the glory and splendor of that moment? The book of Revelation gives us a breathtaking description of the Holy City that will be the dazzling home of the redeemed. Pain and death will no longer exist in this promised world.

“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.” Revelation 21:4-5

Have you ever cried? Have you ever had a loved one torn away from you in death? Have you had pain and sorrow in your heart? There is good news; Jesus will wipe away those tears. Jesus will one day make a new and perfect world for you and that  promise comes echoing to us through the pages of prophecy.

Heaven will be a permanent place without disappointment, disillusionment, discouragement, and depression. Boredom will never be a problem. We will be able to travel in the universe and constantly learn new sciences from the Creator. Visions will be realized and dreams will be fulfilled. But even better than all the knowledge and beauty, the golden streets and glittering crowns, is the following.

“And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.” Revelation 22:4

We shall see Jesus face to face! Imagine for a moment standing in the immediate presence of Jesus. As you look into His eyes, His gaze fixes on you. His eyes are filled with love that words can never describe. They are the eyes of the One who filled your lungs with your first breath and every breath that followed. They are the eyes of the One whose power keeps your heart beating. Those eyes once closed in death for you so that you might share this moment in heaven with Him. They are full of perfect, unconditional, all-encompassing, eternal love. As you look into the face of Jesus, you realize that finally your pain, your sins, and your fears are all gone. You realize you are perfectly loved and accepted and will be so for eternity.

Yes, nothing will ever match the all consuming joy of gazing into the face of your Creator and feeling such overpowering gratitude as you never dreamed possible. Heaven is more than golden streets and glittering crowns. It’s about dwelling in the presence of Someone who loves you more than His own life and knowing that you will have eternity to find out just how much He loves you and why.

Is it your desire to ‘tabernacle’ with God one day?

Is it your aim and longing as a friend of Jesus to spend eternity in a world made new?

If so, let us continue studying the plan, God’s Word, for our lives. Let us continue to discover prophecy and find out how we can be ready for that great day!
