The Great Controversy by Ellen White
History of the Christian church from the days of the Apostles, through the Reformation and beyond. Also Bible prophecy for the future.
This 1884 edition is the first complete Great Controversy. It is shorter for easier reading; and, comparing it with the later editions (1888 and 1911), it includes all of the closing chapters and nearly everything in the historical chapters. It lacks the Swiss, French, and Scandinavian Reformation chapters. It is also missing part of the material on Huss, Jerome, the English Reformation, and a little more.
Also includes:
• 58 Bible, historical, and promise sections;
• Historical dating of important events given at the beginning of the first 11 chapters.
• Standardized paging on page tops refers to the standard 1911 edition.
• Quotation Source Index.
• Chart comparing the contents of the 84 and 88 editions
• Four indexes.
Paperback, 448 pages.
